At about the age of 12, my band director discovered I had “perfect pitch” – the ability to distinguish notes without a frame of reference. I later learned that possessing perfect pitch is really not beneficial to piano tuning, but it did get me thinking about piano tuning.
I served an apprenticeship at Johnson’s Piano Warehouse in Savage, MN. I began tuning piano around the Twin Cities around 1990. I have also studied the Randy Potter Course in Piano Technology, Tuning, Servicing and Repairs. I am also an Associate Member of The Piano Technicians Guild.
